55 Days Until I Leave for Uganda!
I cannot believe that it is coming up so fast. I remember the apprehension I felt in April over whether or not I would get into the program so well. I was, frankly, quite worked up about it. But now I am less than two months from getting on a plane and going as far from home as I ever have been.
I'm Nervous
I'm Excited
and let's be honest...
I cannot wait to just open my eyes and ears and experience.
For those of you who still need to be filled in...
I will be spending the 2011 Fall semester in Uganda. I will be attending a Christian university there and living with a Ugandan host family (I hope they have little kids!). The program I am enrolled in is ministry focused, and called the intercultural ministry and missions program. Hopefully, I will get to experience the ministry of local missionaries and get to go on a safari.
Why Uganda?
I see Uganda as a beautiful chance for God to push, pull, and mold me into the woman he has created me to be. Will it be hard? Yes. Will I cry? Most likely. Will it make me stronger? Most certainly. Uganda is more different than any place I have traveled or lived.
God is so faithful. He is a strong and mighty tower. His provision is endless, and I am so blessed that he has provided for me in such a fantastic way.
I would really appreciate prayers as I prepare to venture off (and yes, while I am there as well).
Please pray for wisdom and that I am able to get all I need into one suitcase that weighs less than 50lbs....
May you all have blessed summers!
